Flamenco: extravagant dinner in a colorful mansion

Imagine that you have a super extravagant Latin friend who invites you to dinner at his mansion. This is the feeling we get when entering Flamenco for the first time. All the liveliness of the vibes of Latin America and Spain are present, with explosions of red and gold, among vintage furniture, carpets, curtains and a modern giant led panel, which makes the counterpoint with a dramatic painting of a woman playing sax and pictures of personalities like Frida Kahlo. Chandeliers are also a highlight in this immense 800 square meter bar-restaurant installed on the rooftop of The Emquartier mall, with a 180 degree view of the trendy night of Sukhumvit Road. The backgrounds are perfect for updating photos on social media profiles. Hard to decide where to start.

But we help you. We recommend some of the signature drinks in one of the two stylish bars. The Mexican Coffee Martini (THB380) and Te Amo Señorita (THB380) deserve attention. The classic Caipirinha (Brazil), Pisco Sour (Peru), Sangria (Spain), Margarita Oro (Mexico) and Cuba Libre (Cuba) are also good bets, all for the price of THB 320. The list is long, from appetizers to tequilas, cachaça and runs. The selection of wines and whiskeys also goes perfectly with the tapas to be tasted at the entrance.

And since we talk about food, if you go to Flamenco with friends, try ordering the Diy Munchies Board (THB790), with typical appetizers that can be served as a mix. Jalapeños Poppers mix the pepper’s spice with the creaminess of the cheese. We also chose Chicken Empanadas, Crispy Squids and Seafood Ceviche. Another good option is the Flames Tacos Experience (THB590), with options of premium beef, pork belly, fish, octopus, chorizo, as well as vegetarian – all served with various salsas, among them the tasty guacamole of the house. But our favorite snack is the citrus and delicious Tuna Cones.

At the time of the main meal, try to sit at one of the elegant tables in the main lounge. If sharing with friends or boyfriend, Seafood Paella (THB990) brings memorable Hispanic flavors. The Chimichurri Beef (THB1190) served with baby carrots and manchego mash takes you to the Argentine pampas. For salad lovers, the Grilled Lamb Greek Salad (THB480) is a good choice. End your meal with Warm Churros (THB250), served with salted caramel and chocolate, or the Margarita Cheese Cake (THB250).

The dancefloor is also large and is ready to host nights for the LGBT audience soon. Every night, a live band makes the entertainment from 8:30 pm, with different musical styles, from swing to jazz and, of course, salsa. The terrace offers a beautiful view of the illuminated Bangkok skyline to end the night in the best way. Fun, cool and we are already looking forward to the next visit.
