Anantara Siam Bangkok has always been one of the most luxurious hostels in the Chit Lom region, in the shopping district of the Thai capital. Sunday’s celebrations have recently returned, spiked even further with new items on the menu. Perfect activity for large families or even groups of friends or couples who want to start Sunday in a very pleasant (and delicious) way. The Sunday Brunch flows from 11:30 am to 3 pm, spreading throughout Parichart Court and into Aqua Bar and Madison restaurants offering a lavish buffet with live stations such as sushi, aromatic Asian corner, grilled meats, freshly prepared Italian, Thai street food and a selection of signature hot dishes.
But before starting the main meal, how about a refreshing glass of sparkling wine to accompany the premium starters? Antipasti, salads, as well as select sushi and sashimi, Peking duck and crispy pork just to name a few. The seafood barge on ice, with giant fresh oysters brought from Northern Europe is certainly a big plus. Anantara has a rotisserie machine used by Michelin starred chef´s and imported from Chelles (France), perfect to cook meats and vegetables.
The main courses are served a la carte, prepared and individually plated to perfection. Here, let’s talk about some that we had the pleasure of tasting. The Lobster Thermidor was unanimous among our group of friends. Before enjoying it, mix well with the pasta that accompanies it, for an explosion of flavors. Another dish that also drew attention was the juicy Grilled Lamb Chop with green pea and couscous, as well as Beef Wellington with Truffle jus.
The Poached Egg Royal with Smoked Salmon and tomato hollandaise brings that sophisticated air of “sunday’s brunch”, as well as the Truffle scrambled eggs. The fish lovers might enjoy the Pan Seared Salmon with anti-boise and black olives, while the Roasted Cauliflower with parmesan and hazelnut will drive vegetarians crazy. For the grand finale, a Chocolate Pinata, with churros, meringue sponge and strawberries.
The alcohol package includes bottomless wine and a choice of cocktails from the cart. At the bar, you’ll find classic cocktails, like Negroni, Bloody Mary and Martini, but give signature cocktails a try, like Elderflower Collins and Ginger Moscow Mule.
