Coming to Bangkok to enjoy the biggest electronic festivals in Asia, White Party (December) and G Circuit (April)? We will now talk about a luxury five-star hotel located less than a 5-minute walk to Central World, the mall that hosts these and other great parties in the city. The highlight when everyone recommends the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok is, of course, the location. In addition to being next to the festival spaces, it is directly connected with two Skytrain (BTS) lines and right in the center of the Ratchaprasong District, in the middle of more than 10 shopping malls and famous sights, such as the Erawan Shrine, and great restaurants. Wanna check the Silom area? It´s less than 5-minutes by car.

But that is not all. The Grand Hyatt Erawan offers services and rooms that are perfect for party lovers. For sure, you know someone who has already been invited to a private get together before or after the festival at this hotel. The Garden Villas, on the 5th floor, are 6 rooms with 130 sqm in the pool area that look like they were specially designed after parties, with a large relaxing area, massage center, balcony and spacious room. When in doubt, ask for room 506, well reserved and next to the spa.

Do you want a room a little higher and bigger? The Diplomat Suite has an incredible 180 sqm, large pantry area, sauna and a giant living room with incredible views. Imagine enjoying the Ratchaprasong Intersection fireworks display with friends at a pre-party here? Like Diplomat, the Premium suites (120 sqm) also have a great space for private parties overlooking the Bangkok skyline.

If you want a tip, pay an extra fee for the exclusive access to Grand Club Lounge and have a buffet available with food and soft drinks whenever you want, from the side of your room. On the day we stayed, in addition to cheeses and ham at will, we had tum, fried rice, indian chicken salad and dim sums.

Talking about food, Breakfast is an episode apart, one of the most complete in the Thai capital, with a station of Asian dishes, noodles, western, cheese, salmon and hams and bakery. At the The Dining Room locate at the ground floor serving darlily from 7.00 to 10.30 AM

Of all the restaurants at the Grand Hyatt Erawan, the highlight goes to Italian Salvia (READ THE SALVIA REVIEW HERE), with one of the best pizzas in town and dishes at a great price to share with family and friends.

After very late check out next we want to try another cool restaurant locate at the lower lobby next to Coffee shop You&Mee is a Stand Alone inspired “Noodle house” with a blend of Art Deco and Chinese / Asian features. It is a fun and casual place, offering the best comfort food of every Asian country you can have on a daily basis.

It is an Ideal spot for a light meal accompanied by a range of refreshing Asian crafted soda. The casual eatery dishes are served in suitable size portions and its  menu changes to reflect the best of local ingredients.

Low points

Although classy and luxurious, the hotel is a little dark and with a little dated decor, compared to other five stars in the region, like Waldorf Astoria, St. Regis and Anantara. In rooms without large windows, the ambience and decor also appear to be very dark and old. The windows don’t open, so no fresh air inside the room. The bed is also a little hard and uncomfortable, for my taste. The bathroom is perhaps my favorite part, stylish and technological. The toilet is a Toto Washlet, with bidet function, heated seats, temperature control and oscillating nozzles so you get a good clean both back and front.

In addition, the Grand Hyatt Erawan is a safe option for those visiting Bangkok for the first time, thanks to its fantastic location, central, with easy access to the train lines and on the side of the mall where the biggest festivals in Asia are held. The price is on market and hotel is a great choice.
